Inventing your own Trig problem

We've been learning about right-triangle trigonometry and the Law of Sines and Cosines in class. Add your own invented word problem to the comments below. Be sure that you have worked it out backwards from a diagram first, so that it makes sense.

  2. Ellie and Natalie were having lunch at Sandtrap,when they were done eating,Ellie left N20*W at 8mph and Natalie left S50*E at a rate of 4mph. If they both arrive to their destination at the same time, how far away are they from each other?

  3. Stephanie and Carly were hanging out at Stephanie's house. Carly got a call from her mom and had to leave, she left Stephanie's house and is walking N20*E at 3mph. Her mom is 150ft away from Stephanie's house. How long will it take Carly to get to her mom.

  4. Ellie is watching her kite that is bearing North 20 degrees West, 30 feet in the air. She moves 10 feet to the east and the kite is parallel to the ground. She then moves 15 feet east and the kite has a bearing of North 40 degrees West. What are the lengths of the kite?
